Back to School Initiative 2023
This year we are taking a different approach. I feel so many places are hosting Back to School Events and handing out school supplies, and you know I like to be different and think out of the box.
This year I will be cutting back on the amount of school supplies we give out so I can focus on items that will prepare and empower children/teens for school. We will be adding a toiletry station, breakfast station, and after school snack station.
Items like a bath towel, washcloth, deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrush, hairbrush, pajamas etc. (see full list below) You might think everybody has those items… you’re wrong. You would be surprised how often I am asked for basic essentials from children/teens. They don’t have a towel to dry off on, a washcloth to wash their face, or even shampoo to wash their hair. No pajamas to cuddle up in for bedtime.
Providing kids/teens with toiletries and essential items is important for several reasons. Hygiene is crucial for their health and well-being. Access to these items will boost their self-esteem and confidence.
